New Here

What to expect

Whether you’re brand new to the idea of church, you’ve been going your whole life, or you’re revisiting your faith–you are welcome here! We can’t wait to see you on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. at The Heights Center (1690 Hillside Terrace, Akron). We also live-stream our services on our Facebook page if you aren’t quite ready to join us in person yet.

Here’s what Happens on a Sunday Morning:

Are you gathering in person?

We are! We have our seating spaced out and are following CDC recommendations about masking during Covid-19. The current recommendation is that those who haven’t been vaccinated continue to wear masks indoors. We also offer a livestream of our service if you aren’t ready to join us in person just yet.

WHERE DO YOU MEET?

When we meet in person, we meet at The Heights Center – 1690 Hillside Terrace at the corner of Hillside Terrace and Newton Street, right behind the Linda Theater.

Where do I go when I arrive?

The best parking spot is the lot behind our building off of Hillside Terrace. If you have a stroller or a wheelchair, enter through the doors off of Hillside Terrace.

What will the service be like?

First, our band will lead everyone in singing a couple songs together. Then we’ll read from the teachings of Jesus, talk about what it means for life, and practice communion together. The whole experience will last about 75 minutes.

What should I wear?

Wear whatever feels like a Sunday morning to you! You’ll see people in shorts and a t-shirt and even the occasional tie. You do you!

What about my kids?

We have a staffed nursery for little kiddos 2 and under, a kids’ class for ages 3-5, and a class for kids ages 6-12. Kids will sing songs, eat snacks, learn about Jesus, and play some games. Find out more about our kids’ classes here.

Every kid is checked into our secure system and every parent will get a security tag exclusively for their kids. All our kids volunteers are background checked members of our church.

What if I don’t know what I believe?

That’s okay! We are all still figuring out what we believe and what that means for life. There are no bad questions, so bring your questions and let’s find some good answers together!

What do I do next?

Be sure to stop by the Next Steps room after Sunday service, right off the back of the sanctuary. There you’ll be able to meet some friendly people, ask any questions you might have, and walk away with a free gift.

If you’re interested in learning more about us after Sunday service, you’ll want to check out Hope in the Heights. It’s a 60 minute gathering we host once a month where you can learn everything about our church and what your next step is. Find out more about Hope in the Heights and RSVP for the next gathering here
